With support from the California Arts Council, Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation will continue to provide FREE, after-school, Visual and Performing Arts Classes at all levels for 900 students per year, filling 3000 class seats. Students will have a safe outlet while learning the arts at a high level and building self confidence. This grant will also fund new Enrichment Classes such as Theater Tech, Theater Lighting, Creative Writing, Sewing, Free-Style Rapping, Mini Music and Construction Kids.
Paso Robles Youth Arts Center (PRYAC) has been providing children ages 5 to 18, with accessible classes in the Visual and Performing Arts, for 25 years! We offer 30-35 classes per week to approximately 250 students per 8-week session and fill 2300 student seats annually, in our after-school program. The Center relies entirely on community donations, private and public funding, grants, supplies, and donated equipment.
PRYAC seeks to promote self-reliance, enhance self-esteem and instill a sense of wholeness in local youth by providing a safe, accessible environment where they can experience the arts, which promotes cultural understanding. Our organization believes the arts are vital to the cognitive growth and development of students and are the driving forces behind all other learning for our youth as they become contributing members of the community. Through our visual art, dance, theatre, music, media and culinary arts classes, PRYAC has been a mental health lifeline and a source of self-expression for students moving through the recovery stages of the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn.
