With support from the California Arts Council, Music for Minors Inc will provide weekly In-School Music Education Program of standards-based music lessons to 25,000 Bay Area elementary school students. The comprehensive, culturally diverse program includes music learning objectives tailored for each grade and gives students a variety of music-based experiences.
MFM’s core program delivers weekly, standards-based music instruction to preschool–6th grade students. Our trained teaching artists lead 30–45-minute in-class lessons for approximately 18-30 weeks per school year, incorporating singing, movement, rhythm, percussion, and music literacy. Lessons are culturally responsive and support social-emotional learning while reinforcing classroom content, fostering student confidence, collaboration, and creativity.
