Mid-City Community Music (MCCM) is committed to bringing San Diego’s Mid-City residents together in community through the arts.

Purpose
Started in 1974 as The New Expression Folk Music Center by three San Diego musicians, MCCM strives to amplify the voices of San Diego’s most impacted and underserved communities by empowering them to tell their stories through the creation of art that reflects their cultures, communities and experiences. Since 2017, MCCM has made a commitment to free year-round art and music instruction to youth in San Diego’s most underserved neighborhoods, especially those whose lives have been impacted by the justice system.
