M5Arts formed in 2015 as a collective of artists, educators, community leaders, and business owners who set out to create culturally significant temporary immersive experiences that were unique to Sacramento. Our headquarters, businesses, staff and board members are active in Sacramento Districts 3 and 4.

Art Hotel, our first expression in the heart of downtown Sacramento, attracted over 13,000 visitors for a unique 10-day multidisciplinary art exhibit which included interactive and immersive installations, poetry, literature, film screenings (including seven US and three world premieres) lectures, and performances. Our intention was to create a space that encouraged collaboration and exploration.

ArtStreet expanded on the concept and lessons we learned by following up with a 24-day temporary event two years later in February, 2017. Over 300 participating artists worked to transform the Mill at Broadway into a fully-enhanced immersive art experience for over 30,000 attendees.
