With support from the California Arts Council, Little Village Foundation will retain an experienced, non-profit consultant to aid the organization in developing a more sophisticated set of financial reporting and management tools better suited to its current operations and anticipated future growth. In addition, this consultant will guide the Executive Director and Board through a strategic planning process designed to identify longer term goals and opportunities for this vibrant organization.
Little Village Foundation provides these services, free of charge, to selected artists:
➢ Pre-Recording Production Services
➢ Professional Recording Studio, (includes Engineer and Producer)
➢ Studio Musicians
➢ Graphic Artist & Photographer (Album Art)
➢ National Media campaign in support of release
➢ Manufacture of first 1000 CDs (after artists sell their first 1,000 Little Village-provided CDs, they can buy the next 1,000 for a very reasonable cost)
➢ Booking of gigs in support of release and afterwards per artists’ interest
In about 7 years, Little Village has brought put out over 50 releases across mariachi, folk, blues, gospel, rock, spoken word, and more, achieving remarkable exposure for our artists by putting them on stages in front of hundreds of thousands of listeners – from festivals such as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (San Francisco), Waterfront Blues Festival (Portland), and Carnegie Hall. Press outreach has resulted in a number of highly visible local and national newspaper and radio programs. Little Village is committed to the belief that music can reach across cultural divides, and that exposure to diverse music builds empathy, which creates stronger communities and a better world.
