With support from the California Arts Council, Lacustre Michoacan de Ocampo will expand our repertoire by 2 new dances, we will replace our 12 worn out costumes, we will reconstruct the Toro de Petate, we will expand our group with 5 new members and we will strengthen our internal operations with CAC run workshops.
Lacuestre Michoacan de Ocampo is comprised of 12 members all recent arrivals to Sacramento. We rehearse and perform our traditional dances at public celebrations like the Latino Center of Art and Culture’s El Panteon de Sacramento as well as at community organized gatherings that are rooted in hundred year old feast days and celebrations from our home towns.
