With support from the California Arts Council, the Indian Performing Art Center will strengthen its performance work, documentation practices, and training opportunities for students to engage with master artists. We will also expand our live collaboration between Kathak dancers and Hindustani classical musicians by creating more paid opportunities for musical accompanists in the classroom and in performance.
IPAC is at its core and education institution for north Indian classical music and dance. We offer classes at all levels, and sustain a performing company which offers performances, demonstrations, lectures, and workshops around Southern California in settings as wide-ranging as traditional house concerts to formal recitals to university classes to public workshops at museums, community centers, and art schools.
