Indexical is dedicated to experimentation in music. Indexical engages the public in radical and unfamiliar work through performance, publication, documentation, educational initiatives, and discussion. We work with historically, culturally, and institutionally underrepresented artists and build community through long-term collaborative projects. Indexical believes that artists need substantial time, space, and funds to develop and premiere new work that pushes the boundaries of the discipline.

Indexical aims to connect a diverse public audience to experimental music practices. We achieve this by including the voices of artists from historically underrepresented groups, and ensuring that our programming reflects local communities that are not a part of the established history of experimental music. As a nonprofit organization, we keep our ticket prices within reach of working individuals and students, while continuing to pay fair wages to artists.
