GREAT LEAP, Inc., is a Los Angeles-based, multicultural arts organization which uses art as both performance and creative practice to deepen relations among people of diverse cultures and faiths and to transform how we live on the earth. Founded in 1978 by Artistic Director Nobuko Miyamoto, Great Leap is rooted in the Asian American community and promotes cross-cultural exchange with local and nationwide audiences and communities. GL creates free participatory public arts events to promote community-building and environmental sustainability particularly among Japanese American, Latino and African American communities, and expanded to include Native Americans.
