With the support of the CAC, Genryu Arts will implement its Reset Initiative, a hybrid model that combines virtual program platform with in person program content, social media upgrades, and the core team. This is a key component of Genryu Arts and SF Japantown’s recovery from the impact of COVID-19.
In its 29th year GenRyu Arts has served over 1,500,000 people from the Asian American and multiracial community of the San Francisco Bay Area through:
-Performances at public events and festivals by its professional ensemble featuring traditional works and contemporary interdisciplinary collaborations
-Studio Gen, a pop-up art space that features exhibitions, cultural workshops, and artist dialogues currently located in the Japan Center East Mall
– A Japantown-based Taiko and Dance school.
-School-site residencies and assembly performances.
