With support from the California Arts Council, Friends of Lincoln Theater will offer a hands-on digital storytelling workshop for Napa Valley veterans. It will include a veterans film/talk series and a community screening of the stories. The goal is to provide a safe, creative space for veterans to express themselves and explore the power of shared storytelling while making new intergenerational connections, experiencing lifelong learning, and expanding their engagement with the community.
As the largest performing arts venue in the Napa Valley, the Lincoln Theater is not only dedicated to providing programmatic diversity, reflecting the community we serve, but it is also home to the Valley’s only full, professional symphony orchestra.
The Theater brings hundreds of hours of live performances to the Valley and provides 60,000 individuals, from toddlers to seniors, access to the performing arts both on our stage and in local schools. We produce free children’s and community concerts and offer free tickets to other performances. Our Artist in Residence program provides 11 recent graduates of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with opportunities to perform with Symphony Napa Valley, tutor local youth symphony musicians, and provide over 1000 hours of instruction in schools and preschools each year. We work with over 60 arts partners and give over 28 nonprofits free or reduced cost rental fees to support their events.
