Our overarching purpose is to weave the arts into the fabric of life in rural Lake County Communities by:
• Providing a vibrant hub for the arts and culture in an under-served county
• Connecting and uplifting Lake County’s diverse communities through cross-cultural engagement
• Exposing and uplifting diverse cultural arts and traditional practices across county populations
• Delivering affordable, inclusive, and equitable arts access
• Inspiring people of all ages, abilities, and ethnic backgrounds, to engage with, share, and appreciate the arts
• Offering established and emerging artists opportunities to teach, engage, share, exhibit, perform, and be appreciated
• Encouraging the pursuit of careers in the arts and applied arts
• Fostering interactions with nature through art
• Responding and contributing meaningfully to the county’s diverse population
• Forging partnerships to enhance community vitality
• Uplifting our community through the arts, and arts engagement
• Elevating the quality of local arts and arts exposure

MAC works to enrich lives in a low-income and underserved county through the arts and arts exposure. We are committed to providing tools and opportunities for engaging in art making and art appreciation, giving agency to children and adults to express and share their human experience through the arts. We work to raise awareness of career options in the arts and applied arts rarely imagined in this rural county.

Creating provides healing and relief from the trauma of wildfire destruction and the stressors, health concerns, and isolation of COVID-19. We rise to the opportunity to contribute to community well-being through the creative arts as “Second Responders”, establishing a sense of place, pride and local culture.
