With support from the California Arts Council, CULTURA Y ARTE NATIVA DE LAS AMERICAS/Carnaval San Francisco will activate five San Francisco Unified School District schools with high populations of ESL, at-risk youth, homeless, Free School Lunch (FSL) and students of color with a teaching artist to create a campus comparsa (contingent) to parade in the Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade on May 31, 2021. Participation will allow diverse school populations to excel and create a peak life moment.
We produce the annual Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade, two-Day Carnaval San Francisco Street Fair with five stages covering 17 blocks, Calle 24 Festival de Las Americas, Dia de los Muertos, Cesar Chavez Festival, Carnaval Health and Wellness Pavillion, Cultural Arts & Health Education Program, Mardi Gras Tuesday and the Carnaval Royalty competition. We also provide teaching artists for in-school and after-school programs,
