Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, Combat Arts San Diego, Inc. will develop and administer the “RISE” mural project for at-promise youth. In collaboration with professional artists, RISE participants will be empowered to self-express and connect through art making to alleviate stress and to advocate for a better future.

Year round weekly art classes for veterans and youth

Step by step virtual art tutorials that are shared for free to veterans, youth, and teachers

Hosting art and healing workshops for veterans, youth, and medical students

Paid-internship positions for veterans and youth to assist in healing workshops and public art projects

Art shows in a variety of local venues that showcase the artwork created in our programs

Mentoring and coaching for veterans and youth to assist in education and career paths in the arts

Partnerships with other community organizations

Arts and culture tours throughout San Diego
