Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, CLARION PERFORMING ARTS CENTER will be able to sustain two of its core arts and cultural programs: community cinema and children’s theater program.

Organization Summary

Clarion’s regular Saturday events:
Cantonese Conversation Class. Free every Saturday.
First Saturday– community potluck.
Third Saturday–Poetry in Chinatown Reading
Fourth Saturday–Community Cinema

Sundays:
Children’s Theater Program offers weekly classes to children 6 to 14.
Music Open Mic and Talent Show is a monthly event with live piano accompaniment.

Clarion participates in San Francisco Chinatown’s Second Friday Night Market by showing short films that relate to the Chinatown community.

Showgirl Magic Museum, located in the underground alcove of Clarion, honors the Chinatown night club scene in the 50’s and 60’s.
Venue Rental: Clarion’s theater and its private studios are available for practice, student concerts, film premieres, and art shows.
