Project Description

Lead artist Donald Bowden will facilitate intergenerational video and graphic design workshops with African American seniors and youth. The artist will train participants in the use of cell phones for the production of a documentary video that features senior citizen artists who live in the Bayview Hunters Point community. The project includes a completed short documentary video, and a book featuring images and narratives from the artists featured in the video.

Senior Centers:
We operate 3 senior center locations, that are a hub of community services for our seniors and persons with disabilities. Programs and services include, Arts and Crafts, Always Active Exercise Classes, Monday Night Jazz (seasonal), Cooking Demonstrations, Nutritious noon meals

• Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center: 1753 Carroll Avenue, SF CA 94124
• Rosa Parks Senior Center: 1111 Buchannan, SF, CA 94115
• Western Addition Senior Center: 1390 1/2 Turk Street, SF, CA 94115

Bayview Hunters Point Adult Day Health: This program serves as an extension of care, love, and support to families caring for their loved ones at home. It lifts up the spirits of those who would otherwise be isolated and homebound and it empowers elders and adults living with disabilities and chronic illnesses to stay engaged and remain active members in their community.
Other Programs and Services Include: Senior Ex-Offender’s Program; Nutrition Program
