Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, BALBOA PARK CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP will contract RISE San Diego to provide professional services in the form of diversity, equity and inclusion civil dialogues and trainings. Rise San Diego will help team members from BPCP (comprised of 26 museums, cultural groups, and performing arts organizations in Balboa Park) to understand and address implicit bias and develop their capacity to foster an inclusive culture.

Organization Summary

The Cultural Partnership offers communication, networking, advocacy, and professional development at both the regional and state levels. These programs provide a collective voice to advocate for the arts in Balboa Park, San Diego County, and throughout the State. This is achieved through coalitions such as the “Arts + Culture San Diego Coalition” and the “California Arts District Coalition”. Additional inter-organizational Balboa Park collaborative efforts work to strengthen Balboa Park’s members by providing opportunities for employees and volunteers through the One Park – One Team programs – including the Parkwide IDEA Working Group. The Explorer Pass provides year-long opportunities to access 16 museums for one price; free pass programs using the Explorer Annual Pass are made available to underserved communities, and to active duty military families countywide, through the Community Access Pass (CAP) and Military Appreciation Pass (MAP) programs.
