Our mission is to provide free ceramics and painting classes to underserved individuals within our community. Our primary objective is to serve students with special educational needs. Art is therapeutic, stimulating, and sensory, which allows students to express themselves in a creative and healing way.
Public school funding for special education is historically inadequate to fulfill the varied needs of its students. Parents often turn to private services or extracurriculars to support their children of special educational needs. The cost of time and money for parents proves challenging for parents who are strapped for resources. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant setback for children of special educational needs, who struggled to learn, grow, and connect in a digital world. Funding resources for special education were also severely cut back during the pandemic. Services provided through Art through Action have provided a safe, healthy learning environment where students can learn and grow through hands-on activities.
