Systems Administrator

Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Technology, The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, implementation and maintenance of the museums Wide Area Network as well as the Local Area Network technology infrastructure at both museum locations. This person will also provide hands-on technical aiding to museum staff at all levels, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, install, configure, maintain related systems, and schedule equipment maintenance, repairs and maintain an updated hardware inventory. The Systems Administrator is also the primary contact for all consultants and third-party vendors.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary Systems administrator, ensuring the 24/7 high availability and reliability of the museum’s VMWARE Virtualized Network infrastructure, including Windows Servers, SQL Servers, network devices, laptops, and desktop workstations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on workstations, laptops, servers, and network devices.
  • Manage a Windows Network with complex VLAN infrastructure at the highest level, wired HP Switches and Ruckus Wireless networking devices infrastructure.
  • Configure and deploy end-user workstations, laptops, and mobile devices as needed.
  • Setup and configure new and used computers as well as Windows and macOS laptops to museum established standards.
  • Maintain organized network and inventory documentation. Complete annual inventory.
  • Stay up to date on current network and device management best practices and trends via ongoing training and attending workshops, seminars and reviewing published information.
  • Implementation and management of a Mobile Device Manage (MDM) for a large presence of Apple MacBooks using tools such as Mosyle MDM, Apple Remote Desktop or equivalent cloud remote service apps.
  • Configure and troubleshoot museum technologies hardware such as Printers, Copiers, Scanners, etc.
  • Manage weekly and nightly data backups using Veeam Backup and Replication and assures backups are successful.
  • Manage a hybrid VoIP phone system and assist with troubleshooting technical issues with a representative of the Security Dept’s NVR system.
  • Maintain cloud web/content filtering SaaS (Forcepoint), Webroot Antivirus Protection Software, SonicWall firewalls, Cloud and security appliances and solutions.
  • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade operating systems and software for windows OS, macOS and Android OS.
    Troubleshoot a TCP/IP physical and virtual network connection including printing configuration.
  • Assist the Senior Manager of Information Technology with technology planning, project management, managing third party vendors and consultants.
  • Provide general Help Desk expertise to museum staff including The MOCA Store POS, front-line Box-Office staff with the Online Ticketing System (Altru) Monday through Friday but not limited to weekend.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a complex Information Technology environment in a VMWare Network infrastructure and Windows Servers required.
  • Extensive experience supporting Google Workspace, (Gmail Admin) Google Drive and other Google Flatforms required.
  • Experience servicing MS Office 365 and Office 2019 required.
  • Experience with managing Cloud Apps, such as Webroot Antivirus, Workforce Web Filtering Content Management, Fresh Services Help Desk and inventory Systems, Adobe Creative Cloud and other SaaS required.
  • Experience in servicing Digital Asset Management Systems, NCR Point Of Sale Systems (CounterPoint), Collection Management Systems (TMS) Online and App Ticking System (Altru) desired.
  • Experience with managing Windows Servers, Domain Controllers, on-Premises and Azure Active Directory, wired and wireless network infrastructure required.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management systems (MDM) preferred.
  • Experience with API, PCI compliance standard- fundamentals desired.
  • Experience with macOS, Windows OS and Android OS environments required.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, initiative-taking, team-making, and organizational skills required.
  • Elevated level of integrity, confidential to privileged information, professionalism, patience, and diligence required.
  • Availability for occasional night and weekends work required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment is required. Heavy usage of computers and phones required.
