HOURS: Off Season: M-F 8:30 am to 5:00 pm but includes occasional weekends and/or OT for special events and OT hours and/or weekends closer to the start of the summer season. July & August this position works evenings, 6 to 7 nights a week (hours may vary) and will oversee seasonal operations department staff as needed.

General Description of Position: The Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for grounds maintenance for the Festival of Art’s property with additional duties such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and communication systems maintenance.  This position acts as a working supervisor during the summer season evenings.  The ideal candidate would have experience in multiple trades of construction as well as stage sound and lighting. The Property Maintenance Technician reports to the Operations Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical installations, repairs and preventative maintenance on Festival electrical systems and associated equipment.
  • Property maintenance includes plumbing, drywall, painting, concrete, etc.
    Maintenance of Festival communication systems including alarms and camera systems. Moves and installs computer equipment as needed.
  • Responds to emergencies (i.e. alarm calls, equipment failure, broken pipes), when needed.
  • Coordinates power and communication needs for special events functions.
  • Keeps storage/maintenance shop facilities and equipment clean and in orderly working condition
  • Custodial work, including trash, restrooms etc.
  • Supervise the summer crew when assigned.
  • Interacts with Festival staff, management, artists and the public, responds in a professional manner to questions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
    All duties listed here may not be required, but experience in most is a plus.

Requirements 

3 to 5 years previous experience with electrical, plumbing, and light construction.

Experience in stage sound systems and DMX lighting. 

Requires flexibility to change and perform various duties as assigned.

Must be able to work additional days and hours prior to and during the summer season including nights and weekends. Requires consistent attendance.

Strong communication skills to interact with co-workers, management, artists, and the public.

Understands computer setup 

Safety conscious, follow all company safety policies, report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to department manager.

Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record.

Must be reliable, able to work independently and in a team environment.

Must be able to speak and understand English.

Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work in confined spaces, in high areas, stand, sit, and walk, climb a ladder or work from an elevated lift.

Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to dust, various temperatures and weather conditions.

Job offer is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check, physical health screening, and verification of previous employment.

Hourly rate plus generous benefit package with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 403(b) (401K for non-profit) with company match, paid sick, vacation and 19 paid holidays.

Salary: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
