Amplify the work and legacy of the CAC in its 50th year as California’s state arts agency

The California Arts Council (CAC) celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2026, marking five decades of advancing arts, culture, and creative expression across California. The agency seeks a qualified Publicist or Public Relations firm to lead a yearlong communications and publicity effort to elevate public awareness of CAC’s legacy, its awardees, grantees, and key initiatives that build a stronger
California through the arts.

This initiative will highlight:

• The 50th Anniversary Awards Ceremony;
• Grantee programs & events tied to CAC’s 50th Anniversary and the America 250 celebration;
• Public message campaigns: Keep Arts in Schools and Arts License Plate programs (available through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV));
• Broader awareness of CAC’s core programs including annual grants, Creative Economy, Cultural Districts, Arts in Corrections, and Cultural Districts
