About the Internship

Put your left and right brain to work strategically and creatively for Segerstrom Center for the Arts top-notch fundraising team. The summer intern will assist the Special Events team in planning, coordinating, and executing events for the Center’s larger donor base. This includes private dinners and fundraisers. Additionally, they will end their internship assisting with the Education Department’s annual reception for their renowned Summer at the Center program.

Segerstrom Center’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds and/or those who are members of a group that is underrepresented in our industry. While these internships are inclusive of all people, we strongly encourage candidates from diverse or underrepresented groups to apply. This is an in-person internship position.

Duties & Responsibilities

·            Work closely with the Special Events team to execute donor events.

·            Vendor research and outreach

·            Creating and maintaining event files

·            Event budgets

·            Event logistics

·            Donor acknowledgements

·            Event supply sourcing and organization

·            Event coordination

·            Post-event communications

·            Events team inventory and organization

 

Qualifications

Seeking an individual with the following qualities:

·            A good eye for aesthetics

·            Detail-oriented (copy-editing, assembly of print materials, load-out lists, timeline review)

·            Outgoing

·            Organized

·            Polished

·            Interest and enthusiasm in learning about event planning

·            Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

·            Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

·            Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·            Interpersonal skills

·            Commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Additionally:

·               Must be authorized to work in the United States

·               Must be at least 18 years of age

·               Must be enrolling in college, currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate

·               Must be willing/able to work in-person

·               Must have experience working with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word/Mail merges, PowerPoint). Basic graphic design skills not required but are a plus (Canva and Adobe Pro)

Schedule

·         June 12, 2023 – August 4, 2023

·         30-40 hours per week

·         M- F 10am – 6:30pm; flex as needed for events

Compensation

$15.50 per hour
