With support from the California Arts Council, the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center will bring over 12,000 Central Coast students to the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo to attend free School Matinee Program performances during the 2020-2021 season. The Foundation’s goal in providing the School Matinee Program is to see that underserved and at-risk students of our region have access to the highest-quality arts and culture experiences.
The Foundation for the Performing Arts Center, alongside its partners the City of San Luis Obispo and California Polytechnic State University, subsidizes annual operational, maintenance and capital improvement costs of the Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo (PAC). Additionally, the Foundation focuses on increasing accessibility to the arts for residents of all ages. The Foundation provides arts-education programs benefiting local students, such as the School Matinee Program, which serves over 12,000 K-12 students annually, and provides financial and mission-driving support for the PAC’s resident performing arts companies.
