With support from the California Arts Council, International City Theatre will be able to introduce over 5000 students to theatre arts through its Performing Arts Classroom Teaching (PACT) program, providing them with the arts education that is not currently included in their regular elementary curriculum. This program works to reinforce literacy and language and provides students new skills that will benefit them not only now but in the future.
Every year, ICT’s five mainstage productions and six education programs (offered throughout the region) touch the lives of approximately 25,000 children, families, adults, and seniors, from every ethnic and economic background, including those at risk of being culturally under-served due to a lack of access to affordable artistic programming. Included in our five mainstage production season, we strive to offer premieres of exciting and challenging new works that are relevant to life today.
Our six education programs include: Performing Arts Classroom Teaching, Low-Income Senior Outreach, Free Saturday Family Theatre Series, Summer Youth Conservatory, Students to Stage, and ICT’s Internship Program
