Museum of Dance is a center for exploring and celebrating the universal art of dance, through innovative exhibitions, culturally diverse educational programs, and accessible archival collections. We recognize dance as a key component of our collective cultural fabric and unveil its power to connect and unify.
The cornerstone of Museum of Dance is democratization:
1- We create educational experiences for the public to feel comfortable exploring dance
2- We provide platforms for dance artists’ voices and works to be supported and shared
3- We offer spaces for dance archives to be preserved and contextualized
4- We champion dance’s future by building allies and support through public engagement
Currently, we are operating online, and building Pop-Up programming for future in-person experiences. Our long-term vision includes building a state-of-the-art Museum that houses permanent and rotating exhibits.
Conceived in 2016 and officially founded in 2018, Museum of Dance is based in San Francisco. We are a certified nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization.
