Community School of Music & Arts (CSMA) is dedicated to providing access to high quality music and art education for all, regardless of age, ability, background or financial means.

At CSMA we believe that the arts are an essential component of a quality education and that all children deserve access to the arts. Studies have shown that when children experience the arts early in life, they have a better chance of succeeding in school, work and life.

From its first days in 1968, CSMA has lived by its founders’ belief that the arts belong to everyone in the community — not just the privileged. CSMA is proud of its long history of providing access to the arts in many forms – through financial aid, free concerts and gallery exhibitions, program subsidies for under-resourced schools, and preschool and special needs students.
