“Wood” A Furniture Show XIII  January 13 – February 24, 2024

The Escondido Arts Partnership will present the fourteenth exhibition highlighting works created in wood, sponsored by Murphy’s Fine Woodworking.  Wood workers from the So Cal region are encouraged to submit contemporary, art, and traditional furniture, veneered, marquetry and wood turned pieces into the exhibition.

Please mail a flash drive of images or email images to mail@escondidoarts.org. Subject line “WOOD XIV”
Images should be sent by deadline December 16, 2023 submission should include jpg format images of the entire piece as well as a close-up.  Clearly label each image with the artist’s name, title of the piece and type of woods used. Flash drives will not be returned. 
Do not send the actual piece. Enclose entry fee with flash drive. Make checks payable to EAP.

 Curator Brian Murphy has designed and built Arts & Crafts style furniture for the past 30 years. In 2008 he was awarded First Honorable Mention in the Custom Working Business Magazine, a National Contest for residential furniture. In 2012 he was among the top 3 in the same national contest and in 2015.  In 2017 he placed in residential furniture for a contest sponsored by Woodworking Network National.  He has been recognized in numerous magazines and has been featured on the cover of a new book by Taunton Press. He is presently the past Chairman for the Escondido Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair of the Escondido Arts Partnership, past Chairman of the Escondido Public Art Commission and past chair of the North County Cemetery District.
