Description

ABOUT LUCAS MUSEUM: The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is the first institution to focus exclusively on storytelling through images, establishing a distinctive approach to the world’s artistic canon. Through visual storytelling, the Museum will inspire thought-provoking ideas and conversations that are relevant within and beyond geographic boundaries. Together with the Museum’s diverse public, narrative art’s potential will be explored to prompt questions, invite opinions, inspire community, and move people to think about the impact of images in our world.

Co-founded by philanthropist and filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, and led by Director and CEO Sandra Jackson-Dumont, the Museum is currently under construction in Los Angeles, California’s Exposition Park. You may follow construction progress by clicking here. The Museum encompasses a bespoke signature building and campus with exceptional grounds and will also include ancillary lines of business (retail, restaurants, parking, and a bold community engagement vision). Sitting on a new 11-acre park, which will bring much needed green space to the surrounding neighborhood, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is slated to open in 2024.
