The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis) is a dynamic cultural hub and community resource where local, national and international artists share their artistry with ever-expanding audiences. The campus, located in the heart of Beverly Hills, CA, is committed to robust and distinctive presentations and education programs curated with both creativity and social impact in mind. Distinguished by its eclectic programming that mirrors the diverse landscape of Los Angeles and its location in the entertainment capital of the world, The Wallis has produced and presented more than 275 dance, theater, opera, classical music, cinema and family programs since its doors opened in October 2013. The campus itself, a breathtaking 70,000-square-foot facility, celebrating the classic and the modern, has garnered six architectural awards. The Wallis is seeking an inclusive and inspiring leader and arts educator who is passionate about the role of multi-disciplinary performing arts education and arts engagement for people of all ages and experiences, inspired by the opportunity to build upon an excellent reputation while helping to strengthen and grow programs well into the future. Reporting to the Executive Director & CEO, this will be only the second person to hold the Director of Education role since The Wallis opened. Although the successful candidate will most likely have leadership experience in multi-disciplinary arts education or other educational enterprises within a performing arts or cultural institution, it is also possible that the individual could come from another career background and demonstrate an acumen in contemporary educational methods and philosophies, knowledge of creative program design and possess a compelling passion for arts education. The successful candidate will articulate a strong commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; will demonstrate a high level of cultural responsiveness, effectively incorporating DEIA into all aspects of their work; and will work productively across lines of difference. The salary range is $125,000 to $150,000 annually.
