The City of Santa Clarita is seeking artwork for consideration for an upcoming exhibit at First Floor Gallery. This exhibit will be in conjunction with SCV Public Libraries One Story, One City programming. For this art exhibition Santa Clarita Arts asks artists to submit artwork that shows the healing and restorative properties of nature. Artworks can be of any natural scene found within nature like valleys, mountains, rivers, forests, and more. The goal is to depict scenes that allow the viewer to feel healed, happy, and restorative by nature and may inspire to get outdoors. Applicants may submit artworks in the medium of their choosing as long as it is WIRED. The City of Santa Clarita utilizes a special wiring system that requires all artworks to be brought WIRED in order to safely hang. This includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and textiles.
Mailed artwork will NOT be accepted. Artwork must be physically dropped off on the agreed upon date. This call is open to LA County, surrounding areas, and those willing to drop off.
Artwork exceeding 25 pounds in weight will not be accepted.
This project is open to all artists, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disabilities. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.
