With support from the California Arts Council, the Sacramento Region Performing Arts Alliance will be able to effectively administer the 10th year anniversary of Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program in Sacramento and teach more than 6,000 Title I students throughout the Sacramento, Davis, Roseville, and Elk Grove regions how to read, create, and perform music.
The Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera (SP&O) performs seven Classics concerts including two staged Operas each year. The SP&O additionally extends its reach into the community via its Cre8tive Pop-Up Concerts initiative and its Link Up music education program. Via our Pop-Up concerts, our musicians perform all over Sacramento in unique and unexpected public places, including shelters, libraries, and festivals. Via our Link Up program, we are the largest provider of music education to elementary school students in the region. Link Up was created to address the lack of music education opportunities in schools, and now in its 13th year in Sacramento, we help teach 8,000 students how to read, play, and create music.
