The 2016 grant application season is underway! Guidelines and applications for six of our grant programs are now available, with our Artists in Schools program launching next week. With ongoing assessment of our grant programs and the addition of new programs, all guidelines and applications have been revised this year. Please read eligibility and program requirements carefully.
New this week:
NEW GRANT PROGRAM! A new pilot grant program, Cultural Pathways (CP) is rooted in the California Arts Council's commitment to serving the needs of an increasingly demographically complex California, and the belief that a healthy arts ecosystem reflects contributions from all of California's diverse populations. This program provides two years of operating support and a host of technical assistance and professional development activities to small and emerging organizations rooted in communities of color, recent immigrant and refugee communities, or tribal groups. Deadline: March 10, 2016. http://arts.ca.gov/programs/pathways.php
Local Impact (LI) fosters equity, access, and opportunity by providing project and partnership support for small arts organizations reaching underserved communities. All projects must extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations that have limited access to the arts. Deadline: March 16, 2016. http://arts.ca.gov/programs/li.php
Coming next week: Artists in Schools (AIS) supports projects that integrate community arts resources -- artists and professional art organizations -- into comprehensive, standards-based arts-learning at school sites. New this year, we have added an optional Professional Development grant category to support co-learning opportunities for teaching artists, classroom teachers, and school administrators. Professional Development projects may supplement AIS residencies for students, or may stand alone.
