Create CA Invites Educational Entities to Make a Declaration

All California students deserve to have access to quality arts education to provide them with the skills they need to succeed in college, career and life. Our partners at Create CA are asking school boards to proclaim their support for arts education through various actions that fulfill the coalition's Declaration of the Rights of All Students to Equity in Arts Learning. Boards that adopt the declaration will be recognized as Arts Equity Districts by Create CA.  MORE >>

New Pilot Grant Program: Reentry through the Arts

Reentry through the Arts (RTA) is a new, two-year pilot grant program rooted in the California Arts Council's belief that the arts are a powerful vehicle for positive change in people, communities and society. For this pilot program, RTA grants will support arts programs for people who have been convicted of a criminal offense and have served time in correctional institutions. The proposed grant project must have the arts as a central component of a holistic and integrated approach to reentry that also identifies other community-based support services including but not limited to job skills training, job placement, mental health and wellness, drug treatment, and/or case management. Deadline: May 3, 2017 at 5:00 PM.   MORE >>
