Artists in Schools program OPEN (March 8 deadline)

The California Arts Council's "Artists in Schools" program application is now open. The AIS program supports the valuable link between community arts resources--professional teaching artists and arts organizations-- and local schools/school districts. Deadline: March 8, 2013. SEE DETAILS

Grant Guideline Workshop for CPV on Jan 26 in Sacramento

The California Arts Council is holding a Grant Guideline Workshop for the "Creating Places of Vitality Grant Program" (formerly Creating Public Value) in Sacramento at the La Raza Galería Posada/Miller Park Complex, 2700 Front St., Sacramento, CA 95818, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to Noon. Ample free parking. Space is limited--RSVP to larazagaleria@gmail.com. NOTE: A webinar will be scheduled soon allowing all potential applicants to access the information to be presented.

Nat'l Arts Youth Program Awards; Feb 4 deadline

The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities -- in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services -- is inviting applications for the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards.

Opportunities for Talented Teens

Artistically and musically talented teens, take note: there are three great opportunties with deadlines coming up. The National Symphony Orchestra's Summer Music Institute applications are due February 8th; the California State Summer School for the Arts' applications are due on February 28th; and the GRAMMY Camp applications for musicians and music-related talent are due March 31st.

Story to tell? Cal Humanities' "Community Stories" Grant

Do you have a California story to tell through an arts medium -- theatre, film, art installment or other means? Consider applying for a Cal Humanities "Community Stories" grant. Applications due February 15, 2013. SEE WEBSITE
