Want to have an impact on arts education? Come to the Arts Education Partnership National Forum in S.F. in Sept. The California Arts Council will join the Arts Education Partnership and other national leaders in San Francisco on September 15th and 16th to discuss how arts learning can be brought into the classroom. Come join the conversation in the City by the Bay! General registration closes on September 2, and participants can save money by registering now. Tax Check Off Contributions Inch Upwards July figures from the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) show that contributions to the "Arts Council Fund" through state income tax returns now stand at $154,675 with 15,659 donations by state tax filers who take the proactive stance of arts supporters. The California Arts Council hopes and expects to see an uptick when the October 17th late filing deadline passes. Thanks to the many organizations who helped promote the contribution option, and a special thanks to the many donors in our first year of participation. The Arts Council's Creating Public Value 2010-11 Grantees Announced The California Arts Council announces that 87 California arts organizations will receive Creating Public Value grants. These organizations, representing 25 counties throughout California, submitted the strongest proposals to enrich their local communities through the arts. A total of $773,163 will be awarded.
