Placer County Student Wins State Poetry Recitation Contest State Finals

Creating Public Value panel on April 7-9, 2008

A panel of arts professionals in early April will review 2007-08 Creating Public Value program applications, supporting small California arts organizations in rural or under-served areas in implementing projects designed to make a positive contribution to communities utilizing tools identified as The Three R's: Relationships (building partnerships), Relevance (to audiences and community), and Return on Investment (making the case to the authorizing environment).

Community Poet Laureate Convening for National Poetry Month

Over the past five years, a cultural phenomenon has occurred within California city and county government -- cities and other local entities have begun to officially appoint local Poets Laureate. There are now approximately 25 community-based Poets Laureate in the state, most of whom will present in Sacramento for National Poetry Month in April 2008.
