Project Description

The mission of Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park is to promote understanding, historical healing, and community amid change and diversity. Our purpose is to give voice to the untold stories of Fruitvale and Oakland, amplifying the many cultures that have created—and are still transforming—California, to share the multi-layered histories and traditional arts of the East Bay’s landscape of stories, and to galvanize community action. The six-acre park and historic house form a cultural hub for local families and youth, and regional center for education and the arts.
