SUMMARY:Children's Day at the SF War Memorial Opera House
DESCRIPTION:We annually present Children’s Day at the SF War Memorial Opera House\, offering two free multicultural dance performances highlighting the diversity and inclusive spirit of California\, to 6\,200 Bay Area students and families. To date\, 166\,000 students have enjoyed these performances. The show is accompanied by a study guide\, offering opportunities for deeper cultural enrichment. For many students this is their only arts related filed trip. Each year\, we open the boxes at 11am for our special friends and volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Join us next week for the California Arts Council’s public meeting\nThe California Arts Council invites you to attend our upcoming business meeting on Friday\, May 15\, from 10 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. The meeting will take place in Nevada City\, with public access available on location\, by web link\, or by phone. \nCalifornia Arts Council Meeting\nMay 15\, 2026\n10 AM – 1:50 PM \nMadelyn Helling Library\n980 Helling Way\nNevada City\, CA 95959 \nSimultaneous ASL and Spanish interpretation will be provided via Zoom.\nInterpretación simultánea en español – transmisión de audio por Zoom. \n\nMeeting Agenda\n\nAgenda item highlights include: \n\nVOTING ITEM: 2027-2032 CAC Strategic Plan\nPRESENTATION: Native American Artist Grant Program\nPRESENTATION: Folk and Traditional Arts Program\n\nShare your thoughts with us through public comment\nEach substantive voting item on the meeting agenda has an allotted period for public comment specific to that item\, as reflected on the agenda. Meetings also include a designated time for general public comment to address any non-agendized Council business. \nWritten comments may also be submitted in advance of the meeting of the Council and until 5 p.m. up to two business days following the close of the meeting. All submitted comments will be distributed to Council members. Comments submitted before 9 a.m. two days prior to the meeting date will be submitted to the Council before convening; all others will be supplied to Council after the scheduled meeting time.
