The California Arts Council (CAC) wants to know! \nJoin the CAC’s Program team in Fresno on Tuesday\, August 29 at 6 p.m. for the in-person Learning & Listening Session at Arte Américas. \nThe CAC is committed to learning more about the experiences of artists\, culture bearers\, and arts organizations statewide\, including from members of the Central Valley arts community. Arts Program Specialists will be available to respond to questions and share more about the CAC’s work to support California’s arts workforce. \nThis is a great opportunity for attendees to meet and get to know the CAC Programs team. This in-person session is open to the public and advanced registration is encouraged. \nThe CAC strives to host accessible events for all attendees. DESCRIPTION:Join the California Arts Council for our upcoming public meeting Wednesday\, August 30\, beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Kings Art Center in Hanford\, with public access available on location\, by web link\, or by phone. \nCalifornia Arts Council Meeting\nAugust 30\, 2023\n1O AM – 5 PM\nKings Art Center\n605 N Douty Street \nHanford\, CA 93230 \nSignificant agenda items include: \n\nVoting Item: 2023 Grants\nDiscussion Item: True Costs with the Hewlett Foundation\n2024 Budget Update\n\n… and more\, including an art experience from the Hanford Multicultural Theater Company. \nNew public comment process: \nBeginning with our December 2022 Council meeting\, the CAC has implemented a new public comment process\, to help ensure specific\, meaningful\, and thoughtful contributions from the field for each of the important items that come before Council\, as part of the discussion prior to the vote taking place. \nEach substantive voting item on the meeting agenda has a allotted period for public comment specific to that item\, as reflected on the agenda. Meetings also include a designated time for general public comment to address any non-agendized Council business. Individuals who wish provide live comments during the Council meeting must attend in person or join the virtually using the web link or phone numbers listed above. \nWritten comments may also be submitted in advance of the meeting of the Council and up through 10 a.m. on the following business day after the close of the meeting. Public comment may be submitted anonymously if desired. All submitted comments will be distributed to and read by Council members.
