Dyson & Womack is an art consulting firm and fabrication studio (DW Studio) based in Los Angeles. DW Studio provides art fabrication services to artists, architects, and other creative professionals with the highest standards across design, engineering, and custom fabrication.
Established in 2004 and operating in California since 2016 DW Studio has become a resource and go-to fabrication studio for complex and challenging projects. In 2022 DW Studio expanded into a larger fabrication facility in Glassell Park. DW Studio specializes in developing custom fabrication methodologies and metal fabrication, casting and sculpting, foundry services, paint finishes, concrete, and GFRC. DW Studio supports diverse projects for public and private clients across the creative industries.

DW Studio is a highly motivated team who exercises a strong degree of problem-solving, communication, and project management skills to address complex fabrication projects with efficiency and craftsmanship. As an Art Fabricator, you will operate with integrity, transparency, and resourcefulness; supporting our clients and the diverse communities and artists with which we work. An ideal candidate will have relevant experience working in a fabrication studio, be able to identify growth opportunities, and will take ownership of a project from material sourcing and vendor management to client communications and site work. Art Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities
Report weekly on progress status against overall project deadlines;
Follow DW fabrication methods and suggest improvements as able;
Outline logistical needs of a project, including material requirements, tools, and equipment necessary for efficient completion;
Creatively solve problems while working within project parameters;
Render accurate dimensional drawings and cut lists;
Work with a high degree of craftsmanship, skill, and attention to detail;
Track and stock workshop supplies and materials;
Research materials and processes;
Document fabrication processes;
Maintain an organized, clean, and tidy workspace; and
Support expansion of studio facilities and projects.
Art Fabricator Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in operating a variety of common woodworking, metalworking, and finishing equipment and will be comfortable working with wood, metal, foam, glass, stone, concrete, and plastics. Candidates will also be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints and translate these concepts from miniatures to large-scale artworks, demonstrating basic skills in math and spatial reasoning. Candidates with a strong background in welding are highly encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time (4 to 5 days, 32 to 40 hour work week) position with benefits and paid annual leave. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
