Description

CDP NextGen: Youth Media Grants in Support of Emerging California Mediamakers
Click here for Grant Guidelines and FAQ
Deadline: March 1, 2023

California Humanities invites applications for the 2023 round of CDP NextGen grants to support California’s next generation of documentary filmmakers and podcasters ages 18 and under.

California-based nonprofit organizations and public agencies, including schools and libraries, with track records in youth media programming, may apply for grants up to $15,000 to provide training to emerging media makers in the creation of short, insightful nonfiction films and/or podcasts that tell original stories about life in California today.

We are particularly interested in projects that actively support critical thinking and media literacy among young Californians, in addition to providing technical and creative training in media production. Competitive applications will use the humanities to encourage deepened understanding of subjects and issues relevant to participants’ lives and communities.
