A Noise Within

A Noise Within, California’s premier classical repertory theatre, is currently seeking a Dramaturg to create study guides for A Noise Within’s 2017-2018 season.

The Dramaturg will report to the Director of Education and will be responsible for researching, compiling, and writing all materials for 6 study guides.

Duties will include:

  • Researching the historical context of all 6 shows in the 17-18 season
  • Compiling, writing and editing of the:
    • Synopsis
    • Character breakdown
    • Biographies of the playwright and other relevant individuals
    • Themes
    • Timeline
    • Essay questions
    • Additional resources
    • Relevant images that align with content
    • Works cited
    • Additional content as needed
  • Requesting and receiving permission to reprint any articles sourced from scholarly publications

This is a project-based contract starting in late April. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to work independently from home while adhering to strict deadlines. Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree strongly preferred. Compensation is $2000 total for the project.
