Retail Associate
Craft & Folk Art Museum

Los Angeles, CA

The Craft & Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) Retail Associate is a multi-faceted individual who provides customer service, completes sales transactions (both retail sales and museum ticketing), maintains the physical appearance of the shop and preforms opening and closing procedures. In addition to these daily functions, the Retail Associate assists the Retail Operations Manager with incoming shipments and the processing of online sales. The Retail Associate is also a representative of the museum and as such should be knowledgeable of CAFAM’s current exhibitions, events, and membership benefits. 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Offer pro-active customer service that is courteous informed and friendly
  • Assist customers with selections, including answering inquiries and offering suggestions
  • Operate Point of Sales to guarantee accurate financial transactions
  • Maintain and organize shop, shop storage, and supplies
  • Assist Retail Operations Manager with long-standing consignment
  • Restock product as needed and submit reorder requests to Retail Operations Manager
  • Assist with yearly inventory count
  • Assist with pop-ups and special shopping events

 

Requirements

 

  • Effective customer service-oriented interpersonal skills 
  • Promptness and reliability are essential 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends 
  • Two years of customer service, retail, or visitor service experience preferred

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Standing, walking, bending throughout the day
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
