Council Chair Malissa Feruzzi Shriver Named to National Assembly of State Arts Agencies Board
National Assembly of State Arts Agencies
Malissa Feruzzi Shriver, Chair of the California Arts Council, has been named to a three-year term on the Board of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA), the state arts agency member and advocacy association. She joins new and continuing representatives from 20 other states. Feruzzi Shriver has been a member of the California Arts Council since 2005 and Chair since January 2009.
"I have long admired NASAA's work on behalf of state arts agencies--educating the field about trends and best practices, as well as advocating for new ways to leverage public dollars, making the case for investment in the arts and the creative economy. I am excited to be a part of this work and to collaborate with an impressive board of national leaders, led by Jonathan Katz and Tom Birch, both of whom I greatly admire," said Shriver.
NASAA unites, represents and serves the nation's state and jurisdictional arts agencies to support excellence in and access to the arts. It represents state arts agencies' individual and collective interests, empowers their work through knowledge, and advances the arts as an essential public benefit.
