Program seeks to promote positive impact of the arts through support of arts programs in rural and underserved communities
The California Arts Council has opened the application process for its Creating Public Value Program for 2011-12. Through this program, the California Arts Council seeks to partner with small California arts organizations in rural or underserved communities to implement new or expanded projects that make a positive contribution in these communities. Final applications are due February 10, 2012.
The Creating Public Value Program grants will address outcomes in one or more of the following goals:
- support safe and creative opportunities for youth;
- foster attractive and livable neighborhoods and communities;
- provide greater access to the arts for individuals, families and communities;
- encourage economic and community development.
California arts organizations based in and serving rural or underserved communities are eligible to apply -- more details available in the application Guidelines and Instructions. Previous applicants should be aware that some of the application criteria, descriptions, and process have changed. The Creating Public Value Program application will also incorporate an electronic submission process, and potential grantees must have a California Cultural Data Project (CDP) profile and California Arts Council CDP funder report for the Creating Public Value program.
