Apply now for NEA's Big Read

The Big Read, a signature program from the National Endowment for the Arts, is now open for applications. Libraries, community groups and other nonprofits may apply before January 28, 2014. New titles include The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Dinaw Mengestu and When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka.

US Mint seeking artists to design our nation's coins

The United States Mint and the National Endowment for the Arts are seeking artists to participate in the Mint's Artistic Infusion Program, a commission program for artists and illustrators to design the nation's coins and medals. "By partnering with the NEA, the Artistic Infusion Program will attract an even wider range of new and diverse artists to contribute to the design of America's coins and medals," said Mint Deputy Director Richard A.
