Clear Channel Outdoor Announces Major Pro Bono Support for the Million Plates Campaign

Arts-supporting drivers in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento this week noticed something along the side of the freeways this week: digital billboards encouraging Californians to "Drive the Arts" by getting an Arts License Plate. Clear Channel Outdoor joined the Million Plates Campaign this month by providing billboard ads for the Arts Plate and statewide arts funding, completely pro bono. SEE PRESS RELEASE

Charmaine Jefferson and William Turner Reappointed to the California Arts Council

Charmaine Jefferson and William Turner have been reappointed to the California Arts Council by Governor Brown, as announced in an official Governor's press release on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Both Jefferson and Turner were originally appointed by former Governor Schwarzenegger in 2007. Their second terms end in 2015.

The California Arts Council has over 40,000 students participating in the state's Poetry Out Loud initiative -- more than any other state in the nation by far. California high school teachers, parents, poets and local arts agencies have partnered with the California Arts Council to make this program so successful.
