New Opportunity to help fund California arts through state tax returns

Arts lovers should keep "tax day" in 2011 in mind for a great way to help the arts in the Golden State. Californians interested in increasing funding for arts programs now have a way to directly contribute to the California Arts Council through their annual tax refunds to advance the arts and arts education.

New ArtWorks! Feature: Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble

ArtWorks!, the California Arts Council's profiles of grantees and their impact on California communities, takes a look at Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble, now in their 32nd season. The organization creates community through song. In addition to incorporating solid research from different folk traditions, they travel to many Eastern European countries to learn directly from elders still carrying on the traditions, bringing authenticity to their work.
