April 2008: this week in the Arts in California

Just about every week is a busy week for the arts in California, as well as for the California Arts Council staff. These last few in April 2008 have quite a few announcements about notable Californians in the arts (especially in poetry) and upcoming arts advocacy meetings. The California Arts Council has also taken on an all-state arts public service project, the deadline for the California Story Slam is approaching, and a long-time arts expert retires from the California Arts Council while another key staff person moves to another state agency.
