Turnaround Arts CA

Turnaround ArtsA program using arts education strategies to significantly improve ten of California’s lowest performing elementary schools, in partnership with the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. Itself a public-private partnership that includes the California Department of Education, CREATE CA initiated Turnaround Arts: California with financial support from the California Arts Council and architect and Turnaround Artist Frank Gehry. a solution for failing schools

"This isn't about bringing painting or music lessons to an already failing school and hoping for new and improved outcomes," says Dr. James Catterall, Professor Emeritus, UCLA and Director of the Centers for Research on Creativity. "This is about the arts as ways of thinking, problem solving, and creative design."
